Parents and Students!!!

Welcome to an exciting year at Manual ! The Spanish team is excited to be teaching your son/daughter this years. We wanted you to know a little bit of our background. Approach and Methodology As natives and experienced teachers, we bring new innovative ideas to get your son/daughter to love and learn Spanish. The textbooks we will be using is “Aventuras " These textbooks not only will engage students with games, videos, conversations and a chance to record themselves, but also includes online students’ textbook and exercises. This years they will learn many different topics and vast information about Hispanic culture. It is our goal that they will be able to understand, communicate and understand the culture and the target language by the end of the years! Approach and materials needed The materials needed for Spanish class are a 3-ring binder with 4 dividers ( vocabulario, trabajo en clase, tarea, cultura y diversiones), a lined composition book, line paper, blue or black pen, markers, colored pencils, and a pocket dictionary (a must). These materials are required to be brought to class everyday. As you know, learning a second language requires effort and time. The students will have homework and it is imperative for you to make sure they do it since practice makes perfect....” Please went your child is absents check the website and he/she can find the work they missed on it, and everything they were supposed to learn on that day.

Here is a link to a website which features articles about Hispanic Heritage Month. Read one article and write a few key points (3 to 5 sentences) in Spanish describing what the article is about or any information you learned from it and I will give you extra credit. DO NOT use any translator to help you with the sentences or I will not award you any credit. Keep the sentences simple and use your own Spanish skills.
